Iain handles both international arbitration and Hong Kong court proceedings. He is familiar with a variety of arbitration rules including the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) Terms, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) Administered Arbitration Rules.

Iain regularly acts for shipowners, ship operators, commodity traders, bunker suppliers, shipyards, marine insurers and port terminals. He is particularly experienced in handling claims arising under charterparties, bills of lading, sale of goods contracts and other commercial agreements. Iain's work also covers admiralty and ship arrest, company matters such as winding-up petitions and shareholder disputes, enforcement of foreign judgments and awards, commercial fraud and asset tracing, as well as drafting bespoke commercial agreements.

Iain previously worked in London and is admitted to practice in both England and Wales and Hong Kong. He also has in-house legal experience having previously been seconded to a major commodity trader.
