Ivan has extensive experience of handling claims against law firms and other professionals, especially claims involving pensions issues, in which he has particular expertise.
He is regularly involved in proceedings involving pension scheme rectification, and/or professional liability issues – including in relation to pension scheme amendments, corporate finance transactions, tax or insolvency restructurings, and financial services.
He has advised numerous financial institutions and investors both in relation to claims arising from wholesale activities, such as derivatives trading, and also in relation to retail claims, such as those about the mis-selling of swaps, insurance or investment products.
Ivan qualified at Freshfields, where he worked for a number of years before joining Clydes' predecessor firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. He was educated at the College of Law and at Oxford University, where he obtained a first class degree.
