Karen is an experienced insurance litigator with a particular focus on insurance and reinsurance policy advice and claims in markets including professional indemnity, D&O, management liability and POSI who also specialises in financial institutions risks including Bankers' Blanket Bond, civil liability claims and regulatory investigations.
Karen's work often involves an international element, including all methods of alternative dispute resolution in different jurisdictions. She also acts frequently as monitoring Counsel for overseas lawyers.
Karen's experience includes advising on several high profile D&O/FI matters emanating from the collapse of the Icelandic banking system in 2008. She is recognised by the market as having leading technical expertise in this field, particularly in relation to Scandinavian risks.
Karen also regularly acts in a defence capacity for large claims made against banks, Lloyds' brokers, financial advisers, accountants, insolvency practitioners and wealth management firms.
