Mun acts for clients in defending a range of regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings conducted by Hong Kong regulators such as the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She attends interviews and disciplinary hearings before the regulators. She advises regulated clients on compliance issues under the Stock Exchange Listing Rules and the SFC Code of Conduct. She also acts as defence counsel in court proceedings against directors for breach of duty as well as against professionals for negligence and against financial institutions for misselling.
Mun has successfully represented clients in the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal in a dispute over a joint venture contract for advertising in China. Her experience in commercial litigation and court/arbitration work is diverse and extensive, having been involved in contract disputes, shareholder claims, professional liability and white collar fraud. She also has a strong experience in cross border recovery and tracing remedies in the context of corporate insolvencies and fraud.
Mun works extensively with insurers in Asia on coverage investigations and localisation of policy wording. She focuses on D&O, financial lines, professional indemnity and bankers’ blanket bond.
She advises insurers on regulatory and compliance issues and represents them in regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
