Nejat focuses on shipping and international trade advising shipowners, charterers, insurers, cargo interests, port operators, traders, handling both arbitration and court proceedings in various jurisdictions. 

Nejat's shipping work includes a wide range of charterparty and COA disputes including seaworthiness, off-hire, withdrawal from hire, safe port, early redelivery, off-spec bunkers, piracy deviation and oil major approval, as well as ship arrest, cargo claims and maritime casualties. His trade work involves all aspects of sale and purchase agreements for a wide range of commodities. Nejat has experience of drafting and negotiating a variety of logistics and transportation contracts. He is also involved in general commercial litigation.

An English qualified lawyer, Nejat has been based in the region since 2009 prior to which he worked in London for another leading international shipping and trade firm.
