Taimur is a partner at Clyde & Co and, apart from his Middle East and Africa focused work, leads our global Pakistan practice. He is also a part of the firm's global public international law, corporate and energy practice groups and the Belt and Road Initiative (with a special focus on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor).

He regularly advises governments, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, listed companies and Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters including arbitration, litigation and mediation mandates, government concessions, infrastructure projects, conventional and Islamic Finance transactions, corporate governance and capital market matters, M&A and joint ventures in countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Taimur was a partner at a large US law firm and previously served as the regional head of the legal department of Vale, one of the world's largest metals and mining group, with responsibility for legal matters relating to multi-billion dollar projects in Oman and Malaysia and exploration and business development activities across Middle East and West Asia.

He has also been a Research Scholar (International Commercial Contracts) at UNIDROIT in Rome and a Visiting Fellow at South Center in Geneva. During 2005-8, he was also the Executive Director of the Research Society of International Law, Pakistan’s only international law think tank and capacity building institution.

Taimur has been a Guest Speaker at universities, civil and military training institutes and think tanks in various countries including at the Foreign Service Academy and the Navy War College in Pakistan, American University in Dubai, Bank Muscat L&D Center in Oman and Georgetown University Law Center in the U.S.

Taimur's articles on legal issues appear regularly in leading publications in various jurisdictions and he has also contributed chapters to books on joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions in the Middle East. During the last decade, he has established and supported a number of access to justice and legal literacy projects in Pakistan and is often quoted by media outlets in the country on current legal issues. He is an alumnus of the Georgetown Leadership Seminar and has also attended The Hague Academy of International Law. He also holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.
