Timothy (Tim) O’Ryan represents insurers in coverage disputes and litigation in relation to directors’ and officers’ liability, professional indemnity, errors and omissions, general liability, cyber risks, property damage and business interruption policies. He also advises insurers on corporate and regulatory matters, portfolio transactions, policy wording drafting and product development.
Tim previously practiced in Australia, where he advised insurers, insurance brokers, and corporate policy holders on disputed claims litigation, complex coverage issues, policy wording drafting, claims management, regulatory compliance, and insurance portfolio transactions. He undertook secondments to major Australian and global insurers, giving him a comprehensive understanding of claims management, underwriting, product development, distribution and other internal insurer processes.
Tim was a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Eileen C. Moore on the California Court of Appeal. He has also volunteered at the Redfern Legal Centre, a pro bono legal clinic for disadvantaged people in the inner city of Sydney, Australia.
