After years of anticipation, the new Labour Law no. 14 for 2025 (the New Labour Law) was published on 3 May 2025 in the Egyptian Official Gazette to replace the current Labour Law no. 12 for 2003 (the Current Labour Law). The New Labour Law, which will enter into effect on 1 September 2025, aims to overhaul outdated regulations and align Egypt’s labour framework with modern economic and social developments.
