Clyde & Co records 28th consecutive year of growth

Profit at the firm was £160 million for FY2025/26.

North America remained the firm’s fastest-growing region, with revenue increasing to £237 million, representing 28% of firmwide revenue. The firm first opened in North America 20 years ago. The UK remained the firm’s largest region, generating 47% of firmwide revenue. Middle East and Africa accounted for 10%, Europe 7%, Asia Pacific 6% and Latin America 2%.

The growth rate was impacted by the smaller business in APAC following the firm’s resizing in Australia and adverse conditions in Q4 for the Middle East business due to the regional conflict. Growth across the other regions ranged from 2% to 11%.

Clyde & Co added 79 partners through lateral hires and internal promotions during the year, comprising 38 lateral partner hires and 41 partner promotions across disputes, corporate and advisory, insurance, aviation, construction, energy and marine practices.

The year saw the firm continue to invest in its global platform, opening three new offices and taking its global footprint to 74 offices across 32 countries.

The firm’s expansion in North America included the opening of a Seattle office through a merger with Forsberg & Umlauf P.S., further strengthening its US insurance practice and establishing trial and defence services in the Pacific Northwest. Clyde & Co also opened in Indianapolis/Northwest Indiana, strengthening its US trial and defence capability and deepening its insurance offering in the Midwest.

In Europe, the firm opened in Rotterdam through a merger with Stadermann Luiten Advocaten, adding further depth to its insurance offering in continental Europe.

Matthew Kelsall, Clyde & Co’s Chief Executive Officer, comments: “Against a volatile geopolitical and commercial backdrop, the firm delivered a resilient revenue performance and continued to make progress in the areas that matter most to our clients. Our global platform, sector focus and geographic spread remain real strengths, with North America again delivering strong growth and our client engagement strategy gaining traction across regions and practice groups.

“We have also continued to invest in expanding our global footprint, talent, technology and the way we deliver services. Those investments are designed to drive long-term sustainable growth, make us more efficient, more connected and better able to support clients as they navigate increasingly complex risks across markets.”

Carolena Gordon, Clyde & Co’s Senior Partner, comments: “The quality of work delivered by our people over the last year has been outstanding. Clients have faced fast-moving political, regulatory and commercial challenges, and our teams have supported them with the international reach, sector insight and practical judgement they need.

“We enter the new financial year with a clear focus on client engagement, operational discipline and continued investment in the capabilities that will help us grow sustainably. Our people remain central to that progress, and I want to thank colleagues across the firm for their contribution.”
