Full Profile

Suriya Ashok is a construction and energy lawyer specialising in major energy and infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the energy transition, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewable energy.

She advises developers, owners, operators, investors, funders and technology providers on the construction and delivery of complex projects in the UK and Europe. Her experience spans construction and engineering contracts, EPC arrangements, long-term service and maintenance agreements and associated project documentation.

A key focus of Suriya Ashok’s practice is helping clients identify the risks that matter and find practical ways to manage them. She has a particular interest in how geopolitical, regulatory and supply chain developments affect contracting strategy and risk allocation across battery storage, renewables and energy transition infrastructure. Her approach is transparent and commercially focused, working closely with clients to ensure legal strategy remains aligned with their commercial objectives.

Suriya Ashok focuses on the role of construction and infrastructure in enabling the energy transition, with particular expertise in the evolving battery storage and renewable energy markets. She also has specialist experience in climate contracting and has collaborated with The Chancery Lane Project on climate-related contract drafting.
