Angus Buchanan is an Associate in the Healthcare team based in our Manchester office. He acts on behalf of NHS trusts and GPs in the defence of clinical negligence claims, providing advice throughout all stages of the litigation process.
Angus qualified as a solicitor in 2021 at a firm specialising in claimant clinical negligence work. This experience provided him with valuable insight into the approach taken by claimants and their representatives, which he now draws upon when defending claims on behalf of healthcare providers.
Angus subsequently joined a leading NHS Resolution panel firm in 2023, where he defended clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS trusts and GPs. He has experience across a broad range of claims spanning numerous medical specialities and has particular expertise in matters involving consent, delays in treatment arising during the Covid-19 pandemic, and spinal injuries. He regularly advises clients on complex, high-value claims, including those involving multiple defendants.
Angus joined Clyde & Co in 2026 and provides strategic, pragmatic advice on complex clinical negligence matters.
