Bronagh Finlay is an Associate in the Edinburgh office with extensive experience in occupational disease litigation.

Bronagh commenced her career with the firm in 2017. She completed her traineeship with Clyde & Co and qualified into her position with the Occupational Disease Team in 2019. Bronagh has a practice that is wholly focussed on occupational disease claims.

She acts primarily on behalf of most of the major legacy insurers, and reinsurers in the UK, and on the direct instructions of corporates and local authorities without insurance cover, defending occupational disease claims. She also has expertise in claims involving the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Bronagh has a varied litigation practice involving all disease types. As well as dealing with asbestos claims, she is instructed in a variety of claims involving Lyme Disease, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Occupational Asthma, Gas and Chemical exposure, Work Related Upper Limb Disorders, Repetitive Strain Injuries, Hernia injuries, Occupational Stress, Dermatitis and injuries arising from Beauty Treatments.  

Bronagh’s practice is based predominantly in the All Scotland Personal Injury Court, as well as the Court of Session. She is also experienced handling claims at the pre-litigation stage.

  • Successfully securing abandonment prior to trial in multiple claims for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome.
  • Successfully opposing pursuer’s late account of expenses.
  • Routinely recover expenses or negotiate modification of pursuer’s expenses where there have been procedural delays.
  • Successfully secured abandonment in a number of asbestos actions prior to trial on date of knowledge and low level exposure grounds.
