Full Profile

Caitlyn is a litigation lawyer practising primarily in insurance defence and personal injury litigation. She has appeared in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on behalf of insurer-represented defendants in both jury and judge-alone proceedings involving contested issues of causation, credibility, pre-existing conditions, and damages.

She has trial experience in complex motor vehicle accident cases, including matters involving multiple collisions and overlapping physical and psychological injuries. In these cases, courts have accepted defence submissions she advanced concerning credibility, intervening events, and crumbling skull analysis, resulting in constrained damages awards. She has also appeared on contested evidentiary and procedural applications during trial, including issues of document disclosure and admissibility.

Earlier in her practice, Caitlyn acted for plaintiffs in personal injury litigation, including as part of the trial team in a Supreme Court of British Columbia jury trial arising from a drunk-driving collision that resulted in a $4.1 million verdict for a catastrophically brain injured plaintiff, including punitive damages. This experience informs her defence practice by providing insight into plaintiff litigation strategies and damages framing.

Caitlyn has also practised in related areas involving high conflict disputes, including family law, which strengthened her advocacy skills and judgment in emotionally and procedurally complex matters.

Having worked on both plaintiff and defence files, Caitlyn brings a balanced, pragmatic approach to litigation and is valued for her clear analysis of medical evidence, disciplined advocacy, and effective management of complex claims on behalf of insurers and their insureds.
