Elliot has advised on high profile litigation in the Commercial Court, Technology and Construction Court and Court of Appeal, with experience in energy, marine and insurance matters as well as commercial disputes more generally. His experience also spans international arbitration under numerous rules, including UNCITRAL, LMAA, and LCIA. 

Elliot regularly represents offshore and onshore energy insurers in complex international arbitrations and litigated proceedings. He also advises on a broad range of coverage matters (upstream, downstream, renewables and marine) with an emphasis on securing favourable commercial resolutions across all forms of ADR and undertakes subrogated recovery claims. He also regularly provides policy wording and contract drafting advice to leading market insurers and the Lloyd’s Market Association.

Notable cases include acting for insurers on the billion-dollar SBM MOPUstor Commercial Court action involving subsea and topsides damage to a North Sea platform, as well as assisting insurers in successfully defending a USD470m energy construction claim in the Copenhagen courts.
