Isabelle is admitted to practise as a solicitor in Scotland.

Isabelle specialises in financial lines insurance, property insurance and commercial litigation.

She has experience, as both defence or coverage counsel, including claims involving breach of director duties. Her first party property experience includes coverage disputes arising from natural disasters, including storms, landslides and earthquakes on high value infrastructure. Isabelle also assists insurers in subrogated recovery actions. Isabelle has also advised on business interruption claims arising from Covid-19.

Isabelle has undertaken a secondment in the claims team of an insurance underwriting group.

In Scotland, Isabelle trained at an independent Scottish law firm where she gained experience in commercial litigation, employment law, commercial property and family law and commercial litigation.

Experience
  • Advising on coverage for business interruption claims made in the context of COVID-19.
  • Assisting in subrogated recovery claims including recoveries for damage to property and damage under industrial special risks policies.
  • Acting for a primary D&O insurer as defence counsel in relation to shareholder oppression and breach of directors' duties claims under the Corporations Act.
  • Acting as coverage counsel for insurers in a range of claims arising from damage to rail assets from natural catastrophe events.
  • Acting as defence counsel in relation to high value, complex loss of property actions.
  • Advising in relation to first party property coverage.
