Karen advises on coverage and disputes across all types of D&O and financial lines liability insurance. Her experience also includes advising on insurance and reinsurance policy wordings, as well as complex international programme arrangements. 

Karen is recognised as a trusted adviser in her field. Her work often involves an international element, including all methods of alternative dispute resolution in different jurisdictions. She frequently acts as monitoring Counsel for overseas lawyers. 

Karen also has extensive experience of handling complex claims against professionals in the financial sector. Her practice focusses on defending high value and multi-party claims against wealth asset managers, financial advisors, insolvency practitioners and Lloyd's brokers and their insurers.

Karen is a regular contributor and speaker on issues relating to the FI and D&O industry. She also advises on the emerging risks in the FinTech and Crypto insurance space and has written a series of articles on these subject matters.

  • Advising on a range of coverage issues including aggregation, notification, attachment and other insurance.
  • Defending a complex claim brought against a firm of auditors and its members, for dishonest assistance, conspiracy to defraud and negligence.
  • Representing two insolvency practitioners in multi-jurisdictional proceedings, in relation to allegations of negligence concerning to the administration of an estate following the collapse of one of the world’s largest Ponzi schemes.
