Thomas Byrne is an Associate – Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx) in the International and Travel Litigation team and is based in our Manchester office.
Thomas acts for a wide range of insurer clients, both foreign and domestic, in the defence of catastrophic injury claims that occur outside the jurisdiction of England and Wales. He regularly receives instructions on choice of law and jurisdiction issues alongside contractual disputes between Tour Operators and hoteliers.
Experience
- Successfully defended a fictitious claim against a Spanish hotel brought almost a decade after an alleged incident involving injuries to the British claimant’s face bringing about serious neurological disorders. The claim was struck out at trial following the Court’s judgment that the alleged accident did not happen.
- Successfully achieved a significant discount on a professional negligence matter involving a British national suing a Spanish Architect of over €1,000,000
