She has extensive claims handling experience on indemnity accounts for solicitors and medical professionals from her previous firm working, as well as wide-ranging experience on litigation, investigations and claims against professionals including Solicitors, Brokers, and Financial Institutions.  In addition to Defence work, she also advises Insurers on Coverage matters.

Experience
  • Successfully defending a claim against a solicitors firm for failure to advise in relation to a major road development near the property being purchased by the client on a low fixed fee.  The claim was fought on all bases: breach, causation, and loss, and a Professionals’ scope of duty was carefully examined at Trial.  Following a two-day trial, the Claim was dismissed with an order made for significant interim costs.
  • Negotiated a nominal settlement between a broker and its former long-term client after it was alleged that the broker failed to advise the client of the need to disclose material facts.  The Policy was avoided and the client brought a negligence claim against the broker for damages over £2.6 million.
  • Managed a Medical Malpractice account for a Lloyds Client from its first notification to the run off of the account.  Handling over 500 notifications during this period and dealing with claims at all levels, including direct insurance and reinsurance policies both within the UK and overseas.
