Tommie Anne is a partner in our Montréal office whose practice focuses primarily on insurance litigation, civil liability, and professional liability (E&O). She is known for handling complex and sensitive matters and regularly acts on behalf of insurers, professional regulatory bodies, and professional firms, particularly in the engineering and accounting sectors.
Her practice encompasses a broad range of matters, including professional liability, directors and officers liability (D&O) and professional orders liability, as well as construction and arbitration disputes. She also draws on her knowledge in tax and accounting to bring valuable insight to highly technical files, particularly those involving complex financial issues.
Recognized for her pragmatic approach, meticulous attention to detail, and responsiveness, she works closely with clients to develop strategies tailored to their objectives, taking into account not only legal considerations but also business, operational, and risk management factors. With an MBA in addition to her legal training, she brings a strategic, business-oriented perspective to file management, which is particularly valuable in complex or high-impact matters. She is regularly involved in cases involving sensitive issues.
She is also active in litigation prevention and regularly delivers presentations on professional liability, risk management, and issues arising from complex disputes.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co in 2019, Tommie Anne practised litigation within a Montréal law firm specializing in municipal and insurance law. A graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), she is actively involved in the training and mentoring of early-career lawyers and is the founder of the "Tommie Anne Côté Scholarship" at UQAM.
An outdoor enthusiast, she particularly enjoys trail running and mountain activities, where she finds the same spirit of challenge, discipline, and perseverance that she brings to her legal practice.
