Yuliya is an Associate in Clyde & Co’s Employment Group, based in Dubai. She advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious labour and employment matters, working with clients across the United Arab Emirates, including onshore and free zones, as well as DIFC, ADGM, and across the wider Gulf Cooperation Council.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Yuliya was an Associate at Pinsent Masons in Sydney, advising Australian and international corporates across a broad spectrum of employment and labour law matters, spanning advisory and contentious work. Her experience includes labour law compliance, contracts, policies, terminations, restraints, workplace investigations and disputes (including senior exits, employee claims and discrimination matters), as well as corporate advisory matters such as restructures and regulatory employment issues, alongside supporting the employment aspects of complex M&A transactions.

Prior to her legal career, Yuliya was a registered Architect in Sydney, with nearly five years’ experience in the property sector. She is fluent in English and Russian.

Yuliya is admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and is currently in the process of obtaining DLAD registration. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney, as well as a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Sydney.

Experience

Prior to joining Clyde & Co:

  • Advised a UK IP firm on the acquisition of an Australian patent and legal services group, conducted employment due diligence on shareholder agreements, employment contracts, policies, incentive arrangements, payment summaries, immigration documents, and organisational structures, provided recommendations for employment rider and drafted an Australian-compliant employment agreement template aligned with prior due diligence findings. 
  • Advised a global asset management firm on redundancy obligations, including outlining the redundancy process, required steps, employee entitlements, and preparing template letters for implementation. 
  • Advised a Swedish plant-based food and beverage company seeking to establish an Australian subsidiary. 
  • Acted for a French luxury fashion house in the conciliation of an unfair dismissal claim before the Fair Work Commission, including preparation of settlement documentation and a deed of settlement and release. 
  • Conducted a comprehensive review on a suite of employment contracts for a major listed private education provider in Australia. 
  • Advised an independent, family-owned Scottish spirits producer and global distributor on compliance with Australian modern slavery and whistleblowing obligations. 
  • Advised an Australian civil engineering and infrastructure solutions provider on restraint of trade and non-disclosure clauses across Australian and Hong Kong employment agreements. 
  • Advised an international investment firm on Modern Slavery Act reporting obligations and compliance in relation to Australian operations and investments.
