William is an associate in Clyde & Co’s Singapore office and the firm’s global energy and construction group. 

William works on a range of contentious and transactional matters relating to construction and engineering projects, as well as on general commercial and corporate disputes, in Singapore, London and internationally. 

William has practical experience of international arbitration under major institutional rules, including of the ICC, SIAC, VIAC and LCIA; bringing claims before dispute boards in ongoing projects; and of English high court litigation. 

William has represented international clients (including governments and large multinationals) based in Asia, the UK, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. William is accustomed to working closely with counsel in multiple jurisdictions.

William has a pro bono practice dedicated to international climate, human rights and environmental law and has spoken at conferences and events about his experience working in these spaces. William’s international pro bono clients include Legal Response International, whom he has advised in-person at United Nations climate conferences in Egypt, Azerbaijan and Bonn; Action4Justice and the AIRE Centre. William is also a member of the environmental science peer review panel for the Oxford University Press Expert Essentials publication platform.

  • Acting for a major international contractor in a series of dispute board claims regarding an urban rail project in South-East Asia.
  • Acting for a number of contractors in English high court litigation in claims relating to fire safety-related remedial works.
  • Acting for a large multinational energy supplier in an international arbitration regarding a major port project in Latin America.
  • Acting for an international energy company in an ICC arbitration with a North African state-owned entity regarding exploration and production rights.
  • Advising a large multinational engineering and construction company regarding performance bonds in connection with a major energy project in Latin America.
