Nick is a Legal Director in the Manchester office with over 30 years’ experience in Dispute Resolution in all Courts including many notable and important decisions.
His work includes disputes involving the interpretation of commercial contracts, boardroom and partnership disputes, claims involving shareholder remedies, professional negligence claims, disputes involving contracts of insurance and contested probate.
Nick has extensive experience in urgent applications for interim relief including contested discharge applications and cross-jurisdictional disputes.
Nick also advises on commercial property law matters including land ownership, landlord and tenant disputes, and enforcement of restrictive covenants.
Nick is also a Manchester Law Society (MLS) member and has been “Praised by Clients” and described as “Fantastic” in the Legal 500.
Experience
- Commercial Contracts - acting for a Sports Rights Agency in a high-profile case concerning brokers’ contracts and commissions for a sponsorship agreement with important consequences for sports rights holders and intermediaries
- Shareholders Agreements - acting for a shareholder in an important Court of Appeal decision concerning the enforceability of non-compete restrictions in shareholders’ agreements including “Hotel California” clauses
- Commercial Contracts - acting for claimants in respect of the breach of a non-circumvention and confidentiality agreement concerning a multi-million-pound development
