Jakob qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) in 2017. He joined Clyde & Co as an associate in the newly established Hamburg Office in 2019.
Jakob advises both domestically and internationally in commercial litigation and arbitration. His legal practice comprises all areas of maritime shipping law with specialist expertise in handling maritime accidents and related Hull and P&I claims, pilotage as well as shipbuilding and yachting matters.
Apart from his legal profession and expertise Jakob offers nautical and yacht related technical experience from skippering offshore and transatlantic sailing expeditions.
Jakob has been recommended by The Legal 500 Deutschland 2023 as "Rising Star" for Maritime and Shipping (Maritimes Wirtschaftsrecht).
Education
Jakob studied at Bucerius Law School, Cardiff University and Stellenbosch University. He received practical training in the major shipping hubs of Hamburg and Greece.
