Aliaa is a dual-qualified Associate in the Projects & Construction department based in Clyde & Co's Dubai office. She has experience in advising on arbitration proceedings pursuant to a variety of procedural rules and court proceedings in relation to projects in the Middle East.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Aliaa worked at a leading local law firm in Jordan and public international law firm in London. She has been admitted to the Jordan Bar Association and as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

Aliaa is a Durham University (LLB), King's College London (LLM) and BPP University London (LPC) graduate. She is fluent in English and Arabic.

Experience
  • Acting for an international contractor in DIAC arbitration proceedings against a state.
  • Acting for a contractor in LCIA arbitration proceedings in relation to a hospitality project and mall in the UAE.
  • Advising a consultant on several court proceedings in relation to a major healthcare project.
  • Advising on the enforcement of a DIAC arbitral award in the UAE.
  • Advising a contractor on bankruptcy proceedings in relation to a subcontractor in KSA.
  • Assisting the team representing an investor in UNCITRAL arbitration proceedings against a state under the OIC Investment Agreement.
  • Advising Arabian Contracting Services Company (Al Arabia), a Saudi listed company, on its SAR 1.05 billion acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Faden Media and Advertising Company (Faden Media).
  • Assisting the team representing a state in proceedings by foreign investors to annul an award by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
