Pamela Kaplan focuses her practice on the defense of complex product liability, toxic tort, and environmental litigation, including asbestos and talcum powder litigation. Her strength involves managing a diverse and challenging caseload, handling matters from inception through resolution. She has years of experience taking difficult depositions, drafting dispositive motions, conducting oral argument, and participating in expert workup, utilizing a collaborative and creative approach to achieving favorable outcomes for her clients.  

Pamela’s product liability experience ranges from the strategic management and defense of mass torts to the boots-on-the-ground defense of single-plaintiff product liability cases often alleging catastrophic injuries or death. She has played an integral part of local, regional, and national counsel teams, working together to develop an effective legal defense aligned with the risk and exposure each case poses. Pamela’s enthusiasm for the work she does is highlighted by her diligence in seeking new and innovative ways to bolster the different legal approaches available to her clients at all stages of the litigation.

• Secured summary judgment for defendant in maritime asbestos exposure case filed in the Southern District of New York 
• Successfully argued for the application of the Workers Compensation Bar for asbestos defendant where dual capacity was argued in NYCAL under the theory of indivisible injury
• Achieved voluntarily dismissal in several New York asbestos matters based on successful misidentification arguments
