Chris' practice focuses on contentious construction and projects. He has acted on both domestic and international projects and has a thorough working knowledge of FIDIC, JCT, NEC, IChemE, MF/1 and bespoke contracts.

Chris' clients include contractors, employers, developers, funders, joint venture partnerships, and consultants.

Chris has been recognised as a Rising Star in Legal 500 and has been nominated as Thomson Reuters’ Stand-out Lawyer for his outstanding work with clients.

Experience
  • Conducting an LCIA arbitration concerning a project in the Russian Federation, in which he obtained an anti-suit injunction in the Commercial Court in support of that arbitration;
  • Advising a client in relation to various disputes concerning the construction of a particle accelerator;
  • Resolving a series of disputes connected to the construction of a nuclear power station;
  • Conducting an ADCCAC arbitration concerning a large mixed use development in Kazakhstan;
  • Contesting a series of arbitrations and adjudications relating to an energy from waste plant;
  • Advising in relation to over 30 projects with fire safety and/or cladding issues;
  • Contesting an arbitration concerning an oil and gas project in Iraq;
  • Advising in relation to various disputes connected to a portfolio of water treatment plant projects in the UK;
  • Advising a client in relation to an LNG project in conjunction with the Clyde & Co construction and projects teams in China and Hong Kong; and
  • Assisting a client in an ICC Expert Determination in relation to a large mass transit project in the Middle East.
