James Lovatt is an Associate in Clyde & Co's Aviation team. He specialises in aviation litigation, insurance disputes and personal injury claims, acting on behalf of airlines, airports, and their insurers. James has advised clients within the aviation sector since 2018 and has extensive experience managing both litigated and non-litigated matters across multiple jurisdictions.
James advises on a broad range of aviation liability claims arising under the Montreal Convention 1999, including passenger injury claims, fatal accident claims, baggage disputes and claims involving persons with reduced mobility (PRM). He also regularly advises on consumer complaints, discrimination claims under the Equality Act 2010, and claims involving damaged mobility equipment, helping aviation clients manage legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
He works closely with clients to develop coordinated strategies, ensuring alignment between legal, operational, and commercial priorities.
James also has experience handling a wide range of employers' liability (EL) and public liability (PL) claims, acting for insurers and corporate defendants in personal injury litigation.
