Jo is noted for her extensive expertise in international aviation liability and her dynamic handling of complex and sensitive claims. Practising aviation law since 2017, after joining the firm in 2011, she now supervises fee earners within the Manchester team and is recognised for her technically robust and commercially attuned advice.
Jo acts for a wide range of international airlines, insurers and reinsurers across both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her practice spans the full range of Montreal Convention 1999 claims, including high value and reputationally sensitive passenger disputes, death on board claims, PRM and infant cases, baggage and cargo claims. She frequently advises on passenger rights matters arising under EC regulations, as well as recovery actions against third parties. She also has significant experience managing claims linked to airspace closures arising out of geopolitical conflict and emergency in flight incidents.
Skilled in litigation strategy, Jo has dealt with client matters before the County Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and is praised by clients for her clear, pragmatic approach.
