Lesia is a Legal Director of the Insurance Financial and Professional Disputes team in London. She specialises in the resolution of commercial and professional disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including complex, high-value and cross-border claims.
Lesia is qualified to practice law in the jurisdictions of England and Wales, and Ontario (Canada). Lesia also advises on policy coverage and monitors professional indemnity and financial institutions claims worldwide on behalf of insurers and reinsurers.
Experience
- Acting on a contract claim against two corporate defendants based outside the jurisdiction (in Egypt).
- Acted for 10 former directors of a large international hotel group in defending a claim brought by liquidators of a group company arising from a corporate restructuring project.
- Acted for a large US law firm defending a claim brought under French law in relation to advice given in an insolvency and restructuring transaction (named one of the top 20 cases of 2016 by The Lawyer).
- Acting on numerous claims against solicitors in relation to both negligence and breach of contract.
- Secondment at a large insurance company as a member of the claims handling team.
