Melissa is an Associate of the Insurance Financial and Professional Disputes team in the London office. She specialises in the resolution of commercial and professional disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Melissa’s experience includes advising on a wide range of contentious matters including breach of contract, probate, and professional negligence and regulatory matters. Her experience also extends to advising on insolvency and bankruptcy, media and intellectual property, and white collar regulatory related matters.
Melissa has experience of conducting her own advocacy on behalf of private care home providers and NHS Trusts before Coroners and Deputy Coroners in HM Coroner’s Courts across England.
Melissa is a Representative of Clyde & Co’s Sports and Social Committee in the London office.
Experience
- Defending a partner of one of the largest legal aid firms in England against claims of dishonesty
- Defending company directors and former chairman of a football club concerning claims alleging breach of fiduciary duties
- Defending a boutique criminal law practice and solicitor against dishonesty allegations
- Acting for a law student on an SRA appeal case brought before the High Court
- Advising solicitors and firms on complaints notified to the SRA
- Acting on various claims against solicitors in relation to both negligence and breach of contract
