Trevor McCann is a partner in Clyde & Co's Montréal office and a leading Canadian insurance lawyer. He advises domestic and international insurers on complex coverage, PI, D&O, FI, and specialty insurance matters, and represents clients in high-stakes disputes across Canada. His practice focuses on claims involving financial institutions, financial services professionals, accountants, lawyers, and directors and officers, as well as a broad range of specialty risks and products, including W&I, commercial crime, environmental liability, contingency, and other emerging and specialty exposures.
In addition to coverage and dispute resolution work, Trevor advises insurers on policy wording, underwriting, claims strategy, and risk management. He has also advised on professional standards and risk management and has taught insurance law at McGill University's Faculty of Law.
Trevor serves on Clyde & Co's North American Management Board and previously served for more than 15 years as the firm's Risk Partner for Canada. He is consistently recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada for Insurance, Legal Malpractice, and D&O Liability Law. Bilingual in English and French, Trevor is a frequent speaker on insurance law, professional liability, and risk management.
