David is a Partner based in our Singapore office.
David advises energy and natural resources clients on complex cross-border projects, transactions and commercial arrangements across Asia and globally, encompassing LNG, gas, power, mining and energy transition-related matters.
His practice covers the full energy value chain, from upstream resource development and fuel supply through power generation and infrastructure investment to downstream commercial arrangements.
David has particular expertise in the LNG and gas sector, advising on long-term and spot LNG procurement, cross-border pipeline gas sale and transportation arrangements, as well as LNG terminal throughput, storage and reloading, and bunkering agreements.
In the power sector, David advises on development and M&A matters relating to conventional and renewable power projects, including gas-fired, geothermal, hydroelectric, wind and solar projects across Southeast Asia. His experience covers also mining and battery materials projects involving nickel, cobalt, lithium and metals.
David is also bilingual in English and Chinese.
David has been ranked as a Rising Star Partner by IFLR1000 for Project Development.

- Advised Asian offtakers in connection with long-term and spot LNG procurement and offtake arrangements, as well price review and contract renegotiation matters.
- Advised LNG terminal owners and users on terminal use agreements, terminal access codes, inter-user arrangements, storage and reloading, tank sharing and bunkering arrangements.
- Advised LNG project developers and sponsors on upstream project development, LNG marketing and LNG sale and purchase arrangements for proposed LNG export projects.
- Advised oil and gas companies on upstream project investments, farm-in arrangements, production sharing contract issues and related joint venture documentation.
- Advised on domestic and cross-border pipeline gas projects, including gas sale agreements, gas transportation arrangements and joint venture agreements.
- Advised investors and sponsors on acquisitions, disposals and equity investments involving renewable energy and gas-fired power generation platforms across Southeast Asia.
- Advised on the development of power projects and related offtake agreements, including gas, coal, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric assets in Southeast Asia.
- Advised on acquisitions, joint ventures, offtake arrangements and investments involving nickel, lithium and battery value-chain projects.
- Advised on energy transportation and shipping-related arrangements, including LNG and ethane vessel transportation matters.
