Emma Philbrook’s practice focuses on insurance coverage and coverage litigation in both first- and third-party matters. She has represented insureds and insurers in high-stakes coverage matters before state and federal trial courts as well as on appeal. She also advises on coverage issues, policy interpretation, and coverage determinations, aided by her undergraduate training in textual analysis and a keen eye for legal detail.
In law school, Emma externed for judges in the King County Superior Court and the Washington State Court of Appeals, gaining an invaluable insider view of Washington’s convoluted legal landscape. Before entering private practice, Emma was a judicial law clerk in the United States District Courts for three years, working alongside federal judges on matters ranging from multimillion-dollar interstate commercial disputes to international civil RICO claims.
Emma’s high-level analytical experience and extensive familiarity with the courts provide key insight to clients facing complex coverage concerns.
