Marc provides non-contentious, transactional advice to upstream and service sector oil and gas clients in the MENA region and beyond, in respect of a full suite of commercial, contractual and strategic situations and projects. He has a particular focus advising on EPC and “turnkey” contracting models for complex construction projects, in both the onshore and offshore environment.
Marc has advised on a number of corporate transactions, working with clients operating in the energy, infrastructure, and marine sectors.
Marc is admitted as a solicitor in Scotland. He completed a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) in the United States in 2015, before returning to Scotland to complete his accelerated Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP), both at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Marc was a key member of Brodies Middle East LLP in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He worked for Harper MacLeod LLP and Brodies LLP, where he was based in the Scottish Highlands, within close proximity to activity in the North Sea.

- Advising a state-owned national oil company in the UAE in the negotiation and implementation of key Framework Agreements for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commission (EPCIC) Services for Wellhead Towers.*
- Advising a French multinational supermajor oil company operating in a super-giant oil field in southern Iraq (the Manjoon Oil Field), in respect of the drafting of a complex Construction and Tie-In and Crossing Agreement for pipelines and related infrastructure and facilities.*
- Drafting of a bespoke Design, Build, Own and Operate (DBOOM) template, tailored for specific use in the Abu Dhabi market, for a multinational oil and gas company, headquartered in Asia.*
- Advising a state-owned national oil company in the UAE in a variety of non-contentious transactional matters, including negotiations with multiple major international contractors.*
- Advising a Qatar based joint venture oil company in respect of a comprehensive review of its entire procurement and purchasing contract suite.*
- Provided material contract reporting on various key subsea services contracts, to a UK headquartered global service sector operator, as part of a wider diligence exercise in respect of a proposed acquisition.*
- Advising the owners of a UK gas processing plant, critical in connecting resources extracted from the North Sea to the UK energy network, in respect of a strategic Construction and Tie-In of key facilities to increase efficiency and throughput.*
