Hanne-Svenja Reck is an Associate in our Hamburg office, focusing on insurance and liability law, with a special focus on product liability, construction and D&O. She advises national and international clients in coverage, liability and subrogation matters.

Regional experience
Full Profile

Hanne-Svenja studied law at the University of Hamburg and the China University of Political Science and Law. Since joining Clyde & Co as a research assistant in 2020 and then as a fully qualified lawyer in 2025, she has been building up experience in working on mandates in the offshore wind energy sector and insurance. 

She also gained in‑house experience at an international MRO service provider and leading Offshore construction company, where she drafted, reviewed and negotiated commercial contracts and advised project teams in disputes as well as on dispute avoidance mechanisms.

Hanne-Svenja advises international and domestic insurers and companies in a wide range of insurance and commercial issues. She has a particular focus on product liability, construction and D&O. Her practice includes acting as monitoring, coverage and defence counsel in complex insurance cases and liability matters. She also acts as counsel in litigation and arbitration proceedings, including insurance, commercial and corporate disputes.

Experience
  • Handling complex coverage disputes as coverage counsel
  • Assessing business interruption claims caused by incidents in major construction projects 
  • Drafting legal opinions for insurers on complex legal issues
  • Advising a major European steel contractor on project contracts in the offshore wind energy sector in particular regarding large-scale defect claims under an EPCI contract. 
  • Providing legal assistance, defending delay claims for a client in the context of Offshore Grids
