Practising primarily in insurance and advising insurers across multiple lines of coverage, Ryan is an experienced litigator. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2016, he has appeared before all levels of Court in the province and represented clients in high stakes international arbitrations. His experience includes professional negligence, civil fraud, insurance coverage, construction defects and contractual disputes.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co in 2022, Ryan worked at a boutique insurance defence law firm in downtown Toronto, where he focused on insurance coverage, the defence of professionals, insurance fraud, construction disputes and commercial matters. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law and completed his articles at a large national law firm in downtown Toronto, in the litigation and corporate departments. Before becoming a lawyer, Ryan obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Queen’s University in 2012.
