Carina qualified as a German lawyer (“Rechtsanwältin”) in 2022 and joined Clyde & Co as an associate in the Hamburg Office in the same year. 

She advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters related to the Shipping sector. Carina specialises in advising clients on maritime matters including casualties, the drafting of all types of contracts related to the Shipping industry as well as corporate matters.

Carina advises both domestically and internationally in commercial litigation and arbitration. Her legal practice comprises all areas of maritime shipping law with specialist expertise in handling maritime accidents and related Hull and P&I claims, drafting charterparties, handling charterparty disputes, as well as drafting all sorts of contracts for service providers. This includes daily corporate matters of companies working within the maritime industry.

Carina grew up in the shipping industry and therefore has an excellent insight on the industry apart from her legal profession and expertise. She spent many summer holidays on sailing yachts and therefore is also familiar with the yachting industry.

  • Handling maritime accidents and related Hull & P&I claims for several clients.
  • Advising on charterparty issues subject to German law.
  • Advising on corporate and sanction matters.
  • Advising clients from different industry sectors on contract clauses for different types of contracts, i.a. service contracts, contracts for work, purchase contracts and rental/lease agreements.
  • Advising a cruise company following the cancellation of a cruise including handling passenger claims subject to German law.
