As Partner based in Montreal, Laure Bonnave practises in cybersecurity, data privacy, technology and litigation.
Laure advises clients across a broad range of cybersecurity, data privacy and technology issues, with a particular focus on cyber incident response, privacy litigation, as well as professional liability and technology-related claims.
Recognized for her strategic and practical approach to cyber risk management, Laure serves as breach counsel and incident response lead for organizations in both the public and private sectors. She advises clients throughout the lifecycle of cybersecurity incidents, from initial containment and investigation through regulatory engagement, stakeholder communications, recovery, litigation, and post-incident remediation.
Laure has extensive experience managing high-profile and complex cyber incidents in Canada and internationally, including matters involving ransomware attacks, business email compromise, wire fraud, unauthorized access, insider threats, data loss, and large-scale privacy breaches. She coordinates multidisciplinary response teams composed of forensic specialists, threat intelligence specialists, crisis communication advisors, insurers, notification vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure an effective and legally compliant response.

In addition to her cyber and privacy practice, Laure has a strong litigation background and significant experience representing technology companies, managed service providers, software vendors, professionals, and organizations facing professional liability, negligence, and technology-related claims. She regularly advises on contractual and tort liability issues arising from cybersecurity incidents, IT service failures, data management practices, and emerging technology risks.
Through her unique combination of cyber incident response experience, privacy expertise, and litigation capabilities, Laure helps organizations navigate some of their most challenging crises while balancing legal, operational, regulatory, and reputational considerations.
