Michelle practises in the areas of dispute resolution and insurance law.
Michelle has experience in advising major international insurers on claims under D&O, professional indemnity, crime, employment and other financial lines policies. She has also provided advice on lease agreements and shareholders disputes.
Michelle also has experience in handling cyber breaches. She has advised an international hotel chain on handling a cyber breach attack which required notification under the GDPR and other jurisdictions.
She also has experience in commercial litigation disputes and regulatory disputes. She recently appeared alongside with Simon McConnell and Charles Urquhart in the Queen's Bench in London to successfully defend a client and obtained wide ranging injunction orders. Michelle has a wide range of experience in relation to recovery of corporate assets. In particular, she has had first-hand experience in successfully obtaining an injunction and subsequently boarding an airbus to ensure all the assets on plane were kept.
Michelle was previously on secondment with a major international insurer and assisted on their claims handling with the preliminary focus on financial lines. During her time on secondment she was involved in providing coverage analysis for areas including but not limited to SFC investigations, large loss matters, employee theft, social engineering claims, employment claims by employees, education liability, various professional indemnity claims from a multitude of corporations, shareholders disputes and breach of contract claims. Michelle also worked on class actions and security claims.
