Behrad is a dispute resolution lawyer based in Dusseldorf. He advises on international and domestic commercial disputes and acts as defence and monitoring counsel in the financial lines.

He advises and represents clients in complex domestic and international disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution. In particular, Behrad focuses on advising insurers in the area of D&O insurance/liability, E&O liability/insurance, PI and Cyber.

In addition, he frequently handles coverage disputes and has additional experience in product liability, including advice on and drafting of contracts/terms & conditions. During a secondment to the in-house team of a large international insurance company, he gained practical understanding of the internal processes and requirements of our clients.

Working in a research group on artificial intelligence for the German Federal Ministry of Justice, he dealt with questions about the impact of technological developments on the existing civil code. Behrad is a frequent contributor to publications and client alerts mainly on topics in the field of dispute resolution, insurance law and product liability. 

Behrad studied law at the University of Bielefeld, where he also worked as a research assistant. He holds a doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Bielefeld, having written his thesis on reputational damages in national and international civil cases. Behrad joined Clyde & Co in 2021.
 
He is fluent in German, English and Farsi.
