Imani joined Clyde & Co Tanzania in December 2018. He predominantly works in the Banking and Debt Finance and Intellectual Property departments.
He completed his Bachelor of Laws degree at Mzumbe University in Morogoro. Imani also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania and a Master's degree in Revenue Law and Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam.
Imani is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society.
Advising various clients on Tanzanian secured and unsecured finance transactions.
Advising a Tanzanian entity in relation to the issuance of a corporate guarantee to a foreign lender.
Advising local banks on the required regulatory approvals for voluntary merger arrangements in Tanzania.
Advising various clients (local and international) on Intellectual Property matters as well as preparing relevant documents for registration of Trade & Service Mark(s) in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Advising majority shareholders of a Tanzanian company in respect of minority shareholders’ rights and implications of a breach of shareholder’s agreement.
Assisted clients in relation to the drafting of testamentary documents and registering them in Tanzania.
Advising clients on various regulatory queries in the telecommunications sector in Tanzania.
Assisting with applying and obtaining approvals from the Fair Competition Commission.
