Lisa McCartney is a Legal Director based in our Belfast Office. She specialises in insurance referred litigation including catastrophic injury and large litigation. She has experience acting in cases covering areas including road traffic accidents, public liability and employer’s liability, assault and trespass to the person. This includes advising clients on first and third party fraud, defending suspicious and fraudulent claims in N.Ireland.

Lisa is also part of our Safety, Health and Environment and Regulatory team with experience representing corporate and individual clients subject to regulatory investigation and prosecution. This includes joint HSE/Local Council and Police investigations relating to workplace fatalities and serious injury.

Lisa has experience attending interviews under caution in respect of road traffic accidents including dangerous driving causing death or grievous bodily injury and driving without due care and attention.

She advises clients prior to and during interviews with the Police and Health and Safety Executive, through to the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal. Lisa has also represented clients before the Coroner’s Court at Inquests.  She has developed advocacy experience before the various Court tiers in Northern Ireland together with a detailed understanding of their associated rules and procedures.
