A senior associate based in Toronto, George provides advice and handles litigation in relation to first-party and third-party liability insurance coverage claims involving various types of policies. He has appeared before numerous boards, tribunals and courts in Ontario.
George joined Clyde & Co in 2025, after having previously practised in the insurance coverage group at a boutique firm in Toronto. He has represented insurers in coverage and priority litigation, including with respect to property cases (e.g., building collapse, flooding, fire, environmental contamination) and casualty cases. He has also handled cases featuring policy underwriting and insurance agents/brokers’ liability.
With has a science background under his belt and a degree in biophysics, George has worked in positions related to medical imaging research prior to his career in law. This has helped him to work collaboratively with numerous engineers and other experts to advance his clients’ interests.
Since completing his law degree, he has worked primarily for insurers and initially handled insurance defence litigation involving motor vehicle liability, occupier’s liability and commercial general liability. In addition, George has prosecuted property damage actions pertaining to product liability and general negligence. While his practice has become more focused over time, he continues to be interested in all aspects of litigation.
