Hanna Platt is a Legal Director in our property damage team. She specialises in policy coverage disputes, subrogated recoveries, and third-party liability.
Hanna regularly advises clients on high-value claims involving fires, floods, explosions, landslips, escapes of water and mechanical and electrical defects.
Hanna instructs insurers on commercial and domestic policy coverage disputes. Common themes include fair presentation under The Insurance Act 2015 (TIA), policy conditions, exclusions, contribution clauses, waivers, affirmations, and settlement provisions.
Hanna has advised on several high-value fire claims involving servicing and maintenance issues. Other notable cases include third-party claims for damage caused by chemical explosions and water escapes due to engineering defects.
Most recently, Hanna acted in a GBP multi-million coverage dispute. It involved non-disclosures of material facts and a breach of the duty of fair presentation under TIA.
