Rutvi Patel

Rutvi Patel is an associate in Clyde & Co's Toronto office whose practice encompasses a broad range of complex commercial disputes.

She regularly assists clients involved in complex business disputes, construction litigation, professional liability claims and investigation/regulatory matters. 

Rutvi joined Clyde & Co as a summer student in 2024 and returned as an articling student in 2025 before becoming an Associate in the firm's Toronto office. During her time as a student, she was involved in several trials and gained extensive experience supporting trial preparation, including document management, legal research, witness preparation, and the development of litigation materials. These experiences provided Rutvi with valuable insight into the strategic and practical considerations involved in advancing complex disputes to trial. 

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Rutvi gained experience at several plaintiff-side law firms while attending law school. She also completed a fellowship with the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario, where she worked on a variety of advocacy and plaintiff-side matters. In addition to her fellowship, Rutvi served on the Clinic's Board of Directors for two years during law school. These experiences provided her with a unique perspective on dispute resolution and a strong understanding of the considerations that drive claims from a plaintiff's standpoint.
