An English qualified lawyer, Marko has over 20 years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance working for insurers, brokers and third-party administrators in the Lloyd’s, London, and the international company market.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Marko spent six years as the Head of Legal for all AXA entities across the Middle East dealing with all legal and regulatory matters, followed by one year in the international legal team in London for XL, a subsidiary of AXA.
Prior to joining AXA in 2015, Marko was a partner at Cozen O’Connor’s London office dealing with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious insurance and reinsurance matters. Prior to that he worked at DLA Piper in the UAE and Eversheds in London. In 2006, Marko was seconded to US insurer, Assurant.
Experience
- Managing the purchase of Middle East life insurer.
- Successfully managing the sale and purchase of a multi-party shareholder transaction involving high-profile Middle East investors.
- Managing the complex Atlantik Confidence claim in the Admiralty Courts in London for what was one of the most significant marine claims in English legal history.
- Undertook various digital health projects with TPAs to improve or incept various digital offerings through payer to partner digital health platforms and drafting accompanying contracts.
- Leading to conclusion on a partnership insurance programme with the RTA for ‘pay as you go’ vehicle insurance.
- Working with global IT providers for the introduction of various cloud services across the region and related regulatory matters with multi-GCC regulators.
