Alison has over a decade of experience in representing insurer, commercial and public sector clients, mainly in the Court of Session and All Scotland Personal Injury Court. She specialises in defending catastrophic personal injury actions, including employer's liability, public liability and road traffic claims.
Alison has also developed a practice acting for public bodies in Judicial Review proceedings.
Experience
- Securing abandonment in an a high value RTA for a local authority client.
- Successfully defending Judicial Review proceedings for a public body, including a reclaiming motion and resisting an application for permission to appeal to the Supreme Court.
- Acting for employer in seven-figure catastrophic injury claim, involving stabbing injury.
- Securing dismissal at the Permission Stage in Judicial Review arising from alleged breaches of Article 5, right to liberty, for a local authority client.
- Running liability admitted case to proof on quantum, resulting in a damages saving of just shy of £500,000.
