Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP (BLG) held its annual London Market Charity Quiz at the Captain’s Room at Lloyd’s on Thursday 11 November 2010.
The Quiz, hosted by TV and radio presenter Paul Ross, was attended by over 200 insurers, reinsurers, and brokers invited from across the London Market.
Now in its 11th year, the Quiz continues to be a popular event in the London Market calendar, with guests this year raising almost £20,000 for BLG’s chosen charities - Richard House Children’s Hospice and NSPCC ChildLine - by sponsoring tables, prizes and quiz rounds, and through buying raffle tickets.
The Quiz was won by Hiscox who bagged a celebratory dinner at Chamberlain’s. The raffle winners walked away with some fantastic prizes, including a Porsche driving experience, Eurostar tickets, use of a private box at the O2, and Premier League football tickets.
BLG senior partner Simon Konsta - whose perma-tan looks provided Paul Ross with plenty of comedy material - said: “BLG’s London Market Quiz has been one of our highlight events for our London Market clients for over a decade.
“This year we were delighted to support two fantastic charities in Richard House Children’s Hospice and NSPCC ChildLine, both of which do incredibly important work for children and their families.
“Since 1999, our London Market Quiz has raised around £380,000 for charity, and we are grateful to our clients and guests who continue to support this fantastic event.”
