Global law firm Clyde & Co has bolstered its Regulatory & Investigations Group in London with the appointment of partner Rachel Cropper-Mawer.
Rachel joins from DAC Beachcroft, prior to which she worked in-house at insurance broker Willis Towers Watson and oil and gas company BP where she had significant responsibilities for compliance issues. Rachel previously worked at Clyde & Co for ten years, progressing to become a partner.
Rachel is a dispute resolution, investigations and compliance lawyer. She is experienced in both arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC and SIAC) and litigation, largely in the High Court, and with a focus on fraud and breach of contract. Rachel has extensive experience obtaining and defending against freezing injunctions and acts as an independent Supervisory Solicitor.
Rachel also conducts internal investigations for clients across a range of sectors, advising on risk and liability at Board level, as well as following up on remediation of compliance programs and recovery civil litigation and injunctions where there has been fraud or bribery. Rachel advises on compliance matters including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, CCO, Modern slavery and sanctions across a wide range of sectors and internationally from Board Governance, conflict management policies and procedures, through to supply chain due diligence and controls.
Rachel joins Clyde & Co's Regulatory & Investigations Group which operates internationally. This group has expanded recently in both London and Dubai through the hiring of partners and white collar specialists, Charles Kuhn in London and Matt Shanahan in Dubai

Rachel's arrival follows the group's recent launch of a global private prosecutions service for businesses and individuals, drawing on Clyde & Co's strong multi-jurisdictional team of litigators and advocates with experience in civil and criminal proceedings, defending and prosecuting, both on behalf of the state and regulators.
