Chris is an Associate in our UK Projects and Construction Group, with a broad construction practice and experience of advising on a range of contract forms (NEC, FIDIC, JCT, IChemE and bespoke). Having trained and qualified into magic circle firm, Chris went on to spend two years in-house as Legal Counsel at a Tier 1 contractor following a highly successful client secondment.
Chris has experience of working on high-value transactional and contentious construction matters, spanning sectors such as stadia, data centres, high-tech manufacturing facilities, infrastructure and fit-out projects. During his time in-house, he worked closely with project teams across the full lifecycle of company projects, leading on tender reviews, negotiating upstream and downstream contracts, and advising on contract administration, compliance and disputes. Having returned to private practice, Chris now advises major UK contractors and subcontractors on domestic construction projects, as well as several international clients operating in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Recent experiences include reviewing and advising on contracts between contractors and the public sector, working with an overseas Employer to update the construction contract for a $1bn stadium, and advising a Contractor on the construction of a 30MW data centre development.
